Delta 10 THC is one of the many cannabinoids found in cannabis plants, one that offers a milder alternative to traditional THC (Delta 9). Discovered accidentally during the extraction process, Delta 10 is a rare, naturally occurring compound that can also be synthesized from hemp-derived CBD.
Where Delta 10 differs from both Delta 8 and Delta 9, however, is in the high. The feeling usually described is much more energizing and cerebral in nature. Delta 10 has become a good way to get a mental boost or get the creative juices flowing without having the heavy sedation effects associated with other forms of THC.
Delta 10 is in a gray area, legally speaking. Since it is derived from hemp, that automatically makes it federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill that legalized all hemp-derived products containing less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC. But not every state is on board, and some have outright issued bans.
In terms of safety, because Delta 10 is synthetically produced, it’s very important to purchase from good manufacturers. Look for products tested by third-party labs to make sure they are pure and free from harmful contaminants.
Most Delta-10 products come as edibles, vapes, or tinctures. The mild psychoactive profile makes it perfect for those just starting or for whom low-key cannabis is desired. As with any product containing THC, users should practice moderation and begin dosing at a minimum to measure their tolerance.
