Today, there are approximately 440,445 full-time equivalent jobs in the cannabis space. This growing industry is attracting a wave of professionals transitioning from traditional industries, such as retail, finance, marketing and technology. Analysis: CBD’s Effectiveness In Controlling Seizures

Results of a recent systematic review and meta-analysis of cannabidiol’s (CBD’s) efficacy in reducing seizure frequency in patients with pharmacoresistant epilepsy were encouraging, but further research is needed. Epilepsy affects an estimated 50 million people around the world. Beyond seizures, it can cause serious impairments for some individuals with the syndrome. While around 80% of epilepsy cases can be treated effectively with monotherapy (the use of a single drug), 20% of patients are pharmacoresistant. This means adequate seizure control cannot… Read More »Analysis: CBD’s Effectiveness In Controlling Seizures

Andy Whitt, R-Harvest, wrote in a recent op-ed. Whitt recently filed House Bill 445, which would… Read More »Amid industry pushback, Alabama lawmakers move forward on efforts to regulate cannabis products

Florida Bill To Restrict Hemp Products Like Delta-8 THC Heads To The Senate Floor

This is Polk County Republican Sen. Colleen Burton’s third attempt in three years to tighten rules around what has become a billion-dollar industry since the plant was legalized for sale in Florida in 2019. Her 2023 bill was ultimately watered down to essentially banning hemp-derived products from being sold to anyone under 21, and adopting rules ensuring they were not marketed to be attractive to children. The 2024 version, passed in the Senate but only narrowly in the House, imposed… Read More »Florida Bill To Restrict Hemp Products Like Delta-8 THC Heads To The Senate Floor
